  I've been a member of the VFB for 10 + years. And . . . .we've always treated
each other as family, including births, deaths, birthdays and other info that
friends pass along to each other. I said it once before when I was the
MODERATOR of this list and I'll say it again. All work and no play makes for a
miserable exixtence. Likewise, Posts limited strictly to fly fishing / tying
makes for a very dull list. Dull lists are ones that lose membership. We gain
a few members and we lose a few members. Nothing wrong with that! I for one
welcome a little "banter" among members and also short family updates. Hey,
don't tell a grandpaw that he can't let the list know he's just become a
grandfather.

  Nuff Said ?!?!?!

P.S. You migh not see many posts from our list owner, Byard Miller, but I
garon-damn-tee you that Byard is aware of what transpires on this list.

We must stop this discussion right now. I'm sure the only view we *all*
share is that we want to talk about flyfishing. The other stuff does not
belong and nothing drives members away quicker. Is this group moderated???

Bill, that is one of the most intellectually dishonest posts ever on this
list. You state your leftist position and then tell everybody to keep it
about fishing and then apologize for the rant. The alternative would be
to
not hit the send button.

On a more topic related note, I have some pics of my son and his Army
buddies fishing one of the palace ponds in Baghdad. I also have a cool
photo of him following through on a golf shot hit from one of the stone
portals of the same palace. It was shot from behind to make him a
silhouette with that pond in the distance.

Thanks to everyone that does what they can to keep troop morale high.

Jimi, Will do. Our people need our help.

BUT that solder shouldn't have even been in this
illegal war we are
conducting in Iraq. I blame our MIS-leaders. Everyone
should be flaming our
congress to get our boys home. That is what will HELP these
solders.

This is the last time responding to such a post... This has
NOTHING to do
with fly fishing or tying and is honestly why I don't
participate in this
list much anymore. Start a prayer list! Or better yet start
an Anti-WAR list
and I will post all over the thing. I'm SICK of what
OUR country is doing!
And I'm sick of these "support our troops"
stickers on cars. Our country is
going to hell and we can afford to pay for this war on
credit? Arrggg...
honestly I've got to stop now or I'll say stuff
that will hurt people's
feelings.

Let's keep this list on the subject of FLY FISHING and
TYING. Besides you
don't know what God somebody will be praying to...
could be the wrong guy.

Sorry about the rant.
Bill

Subject: [VFB] Urgent Prayer Request

Folks, I have an Urgent Prayer Request for EVERYONE.
          Sgt Anson Martin is
returning to the states for surgery on his shoulder.
          This young man has
been a pen pal of mine and a major contact in country
          in Iraq. We all know
that if it was not a serious situation he would not be
          medivaced back to
        the
states.

Being the Hero that he is, he is playing it off as a
          no brainier. Please,
keep this young man, his wife and kids, Mother and
          Father all in your
prayers. For a quick recovery, travel blessings for
          him, and his parents
        as
they head down to check on their son.

Sgt. Martin is the one who has put me in contact with
          a Sgt. in country in
Afghanistan for CFOT. And he is the one who has been
          keeping me updated on
arrivals and troops in country in Iraq. Please ask God
          for special
        blessings
for him, his family, and those he has left in country
          whom he cares for so
        much.

His heart is bigger than the entire South West.
Thanks,
Jimi
