It sounds like you had a fun time with that one. I bet your significant other was thrilled with you that day. I was thinking that you could have tied it to the top of your van or on the grill as a trophy.

This was a road kill in perfect shape, not smashed so I thought I would skin it out. It was a cold day and I was at a friends shop on the lake. I put the skin in my new van with the windows closed. It did not smell in the cold air outside where I skinned it. The sun warmed up the air in the van and no need to tell you, it was cold driving the 40 miles home with all the windows open.I tried washing the pelt and several other things to get the smell off the skin. I finally tried Borax and Joy, that did it and left the skin part nice and white and no smell. Tony --- On Tue, 10/28/08, John C. Bennett <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: From: John C. BTW-what do you use the skunk pelt for? Rinse it well in fresh water then use a hair dryer set on cool to dry it. The air will fluff the feathers back to normal. That is what I found to remove skunk small from a Skunk pelt. If it works on skunk stink, it should work on the partridge. Arkansas Tony --- On Tue, 10/28/08, John C. Bennett <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: From: John C. I could use that for the set of flies for this swap. It would go along with the theme. Anyone have a gas mask I can use? j/k My dog runs out of the room when I open the zip lock bag. I will save you all from passing out when you open your box. I'll find something else to use. John Bennett Engineer Tech W-(801)513-9001 F-(801)728-1970 E- [EMAIL PROTECTED] From: Jimmy D. If you won't admit to being an Old Fart, I'm sure your wife will vouch for you! LOL I dropped the age limit when it seemed we didn't have enough over 65 Old Farts to make a decent Swap. AARP starts their Senior program at age 50, so there you go! Tie a fly of your own design, or whatever, preferably one of your favorites. Type of fly - trout, salmon, salt, panfish, etc., Size of fly is up to you. Time frame for flies to me would be around the first of February, with the usual toe tags, (little tags with name of fly and your name and email address), return postage & packaging or pre-stamped return package. HOW MANY FLIES TO TIE ?? At this point, you would tie 13 flies to send to me. It'll always be one fly below the total number, cause you don't need to tie one for yourself. FLY TYERS SIGNED UP AS OF 7:30 Tuesday morning, (today), are listed below. We'll give it a day or so, and take a look at how many we have signed up. Don't want to over work us Old Farts. New folks wanting to join, just hit reply and type your name below the last one on the list. Note: By your comments, I deduced that those of you listed below wanted to be an Old Fart. But . . . . if you didn't and don't want to be in the swap, let me know. Tight Lines and Smooth Whip Finishes to all. JIMMY D.
