To: desert-tr...@hotmail.com Subject: for the list Date: Wed, 9 Sep 2009 00:38:44 -0600 Nick Lyons.....one of my all-time favorite fly fishing authors.....who is prolly more famous as a publisher, (the Lyons Press), almost came to tears one time when i asked him to sign a book that Middleton had written, (and that he had editied).....Rivers of Memory i believe is the title. I'll check that when i go downstairs next. Nick told me that he REALLY missed Harry, and went on to tell me some personal things about the man.....which i won't share here. It was apparent to me that he loved him very much. I had just given him a box of flies i had tyed, as a thankx for him havin' read my novella (written in '99), and the critique he had sent me. And i wanted to also thank him for the hugely generous gift of a very large part of his own fly collection that he had donated to the CFFC&M a few months earlier. That, was on display in the museum (during the time we lived there), for at least a year and had flies in it by allllllll kinds of heavyweights that i knew i may never have the chance to see again, Charles De Feo for one...... If you've never read anything by Nick Lyons.....please treat yourself, and the same goes for Harry Middleton.
