Ramsey's has a series of special event Sat's. every winter thru Feb. &
March.....things like, "Cabin Fevor Day" or "Catskill Rivers Day" or "Atlantic
Salmon Day" or whatever it might be...........and they would always bring in
special big name so&so's for those events. Lefty Kreh, Flip Pallot, Ed
Joworsky, Keith Fulsher & Charlie Krumb, Warren Duncan, and more. Misa and i
would always make as many of those every winter, as we could. We took clases
with most of those guys and others, and then i started tyin' there when
Ramsey's would have a tyin' show in the winter time. Do you remember a guy
named John Roetman? He runs the fly fishing part of the store. And he tyes at
the CFFC&M one or two Sat's. during "the season."

Alan, Tony.....the Hackensack has been cleaned up and is not a bad river to
fish nowdays.......definately has no more smell. It has it's own Riverkeeper,
and has been turned into quite a resource for anglers, and an economic windfall
for the area.

Tony:

I remember the Hackensack River very well.
I had and Aunt & Uncle that we used to visit on the weekends and stay there.
That place had a smell all it own also.

I used to hunt wild fowl and rabbits in the Meadowlands when we used to call it
" Secaucus Swamp"

There was a pig farm close by and the smell would just about know you over.

They even say that Jimmy Hoffa was burried there......

i love to stop in Bass Pro and or Cabelas as often as possible. One of my
favorite Cabelas is in Mitchell, South Dakota on I-90 on the way to Montana.
Great place to stop and rest for a while......usually after having left that
morning from somewhere just inside the Minnasota line comming from maybe
somewhere in Ohio the previous morning.........i guess those days are over
though. Cause i'll prolly never head to Montana from N.Y. anymore.
The newest and biggest (to be) Cabelas is being built in the Meadowlands (N.J.)
complex, where the N.Y. Giants and N.Y. Jets play.
