Ft Desoto has many spots to wade fish. This is a good time of the year for
reds and trout. You might also get a shot at a sheepshead. I generally get
three or four on flys each winter. Anything that looks like a small
crab/shrimp( browns, olives and some orange). If you wade the beach there
are pompano and whiting and trout. The pomps like small Clousers in
brownish combo's. There are also wading area's on the approach to the
Skyway Bridge. If you are so inclined, call me when you get in. I'll give

Speaking of salt water...
I'm going to be in Tampa in a camper next week (flash trip), and I was
wondering what fishing hotspots exist for wade-fishing during this time of
the year.
I've looked up some spots, and Ft. DeSoto Park looks like a nice camping
area with lots of wadeable surf.
Is this the best bet, or does anyone know anything better?
