Hers goes-Charlie Meck Nymph: 2x nymph hook, wrap hook with thread from
head to tail then to midpoint of hook shank, wrap lead 5turns on either
side of thread. Take your thread and criss cross wrap the lead and build
thread ramps at either end of lead. Advance thread to barb and use
pheasant barbs for tail and abdomen and counterwrap abdomen with copper
wire as per a standard pheasant tail nymph. Then, strip the fluff from the
base of a saddle hackle and dubb a thorax with it. I found rope dubbing
the thorax much easier than standard dubbing methods. But then again, I'm
a rope dubbing convert.
The mystery is solved, just a quick,easy, and simple PTN variant.
