That is good info from Dail. The other thing I do is a little trick that was shown to me by Dave Whitlock at a tying session he gave after one of our annual meetings for the club. He took one of those real small files and put a notch on top of the hook where the dumbbell eyes go and after doing the figure eight he used a drop of super glue. I have done this since he showed me and I continue to do it on other flies that I don’t want to spin on the hook.
