Matarelli makes a bobbin holder just for the small spools. They list for $18.95
in Feather-crafts fly fishing catalog. You can find them on line at
feather-craft.com.

        Hi Wes;

        I use Cascade Crest tools ceramic midge bobbin for both Pearsalls
spools and sewing machine bobbins.

          Hi VFB!

          A question: I am in the market for a fly tying bobbin holder that is
meant to handle those small stainless steel spools made for sewing machines.

          In looking over the various manufacturers' catalogs, I see a
confusing array of bobbin holders: some labeled "small" or "midge" but none
saying specifically that a sewing machine spool can be held by these without
some wire bending, Rube Goldberg inventiveness.

          Budget is also a consideration. Ceramic tips would also be nice.

          What do you recommend as a value-priced bobbin holder meant for the
small sewing machine spools?

          Any other alternatives or suggestions other than going that route?

          Thanks,
