Tying in the mid point and folding back is how Dave Skok's Mushmouth is
tied as well.
I tried the hot water yesterday on some already tied bait fish and it
does help shape the fibers, I know by experience you can't micro wave
synthetics, they become rather solid.

Hi Bob;
The best tip I can give you is if you think your using enough material,
half it! The amount of material you use when tying these patterns is
very very sparse. the technique I've shown is a conglomeration of the
various ways I've seen them tied plus a couple of techniques I think I
came up with myself.

Hi BobH;
A freind of mine(Rodger Oleson) assembled my step by step for
Puglisi fiber style fly, you could tie with awesome hair the same way.

Finally run fly under hot water to set the fibers. This seems to
bind the fibers together and makes the fly last longer.
