Pete, any hook brand with heavy wire and a sproat bend should work and give you that ‘traditional’ look. Bronzed is traditional, but some of todays finishes really compliment a pattern. Traditional/classic wet fly patterns really need a sproat hook to look good.

As my fly tying funds are going towards the diaper funds currently, I can't get the specified hooks from across the pond. Does anyone here know of a substitute hook that I may have? I have lots of daiichi, dai riki, mustad, tiemco, gamakatsu, and a handful of others.
