Folks: Being fishermen and women means we are close to a lot of water, and where there is water, there are snakes. Anyway, below is an email I sent to a couple ppl and thought I’d share it here. The numbers are assuming there are 7 billion ppl on the planet. I think I did my math correctly. It’s still scary to me t least and that’s a lot more ppl who are bitten and either get sick or die each yr. Chuck
“I started watching that venom hunters show and it said that each yr, more than 100,000 ppl die from venomous snake bots and hundred of thousands more get sent to the hospital. That's worldwide I guess which means you only stand a 1 in 70,000 chance of dying from a snake bite in a given yr, but still, those are pretty high numbers.
