I was out fishing this morning.  Crooked Creek in southeastern Minnesota is a
short 30 minute drive away. This was a KISS outing.  Tenkara rod, a small box of
Pink Squirrels, and polaroid glasses.  At the first pool I caught a nice 14
inch brown.  My next cast hooked a weed on the bank. I'm blaming the wind.
Anyway while I was trying to retrieve the fly, Shadow my fishing dog ran by and
dragged the line through my hand until my finger stopped the hook. I thought,
thisis no big deal. I will just back it out and keep fishing. It would not
budge. And I didn't have my vest with the forceps clipped to it.  I broke off
the fly and went back to fishing.  Caught four more before heading for
home.Five fish total. Plus a big guy that broke off.  66 inches and about 170
lbs. At home I cut the hook with side cutter pliers and removed the point.
I've always said my main reason for using barbless hooks is this:  The "Catch"
I most like to release is ME!   I usually do the Tee shirt test on all my
hooks. But I must have missed this one.Tight lines you all.  But only if your
hook is in a fish and not your hide.
