There were actually no witnesses to the copperhead incident, although I believe it to be true. I been sighted in a few times in the woods while fishing or hiking or biking; once by an archer in a tree stand. I'm sure it has happened other times that I was unaware of. I had one shot hit near me- I never saw that guy. In PA some of the best waters are on or near state game lands. In fact, I fish in a stream near Ft. Indiantown Gap, and often hear the heavy guns at target practice.
