That trick works very well PTN too.  I do something similar I tie KF down as if for a wing case then fold it back & tie to form a down wing.  Cut it short as for an emerger.  It works wonders for me.

Joyce, I don't know if I can get all the instructions in a list posting for Bob. My 'puter uses hot mail, anything lengthy goes over 4k.
Nutshell version:
 Super-Brite dubbing
 wire rib
 tail fibers to match body
 Krystal Flash
Lately I've been tying them all with bead heads. Tye 'em plump, like a Hare's Ear. Single color. After tailing, dubbing the abdomen, & wrapping the rib, tye in 4 or 5 strands of Krystal Flash. Dub a nice, fat thorax. Now, pull the Flash forward, like a wingcase. Here's the weird part, tye the Flash down in front and fold it back. Tye it down at the rear of the thorax, fold it forward and tye it down again. Tye off and trim. This triple layer of Krystal Flash gives it some real depth. Other than the flash trick, it's as simple as they get.
Don't forget to pick the dubbing out to hide the thread going back & forth under the thorax.
