Been tying a fly similar to your Spider & I for a few years now. Only substantial difference is I use twisted marabou for the body, with a wire rib to strengthen it. Sometimes tie it with very small bead chain eyes Clouser style. Olive and amber seem to be the best colors for the body.

Almost forgot....I will tye it sometimes with a Gold Beadhead on it....should look into the Clouser Eyes thought....Favorite colors being the Green olive, Black & yellow versions...
