Hi Gang:
As I told everyone earlier, I was supposed to have thumb surgery today.
Well, I went to the "outpatient" part of Waco Orthopedic and when I
checked in, they informed me that they were not an "in plan" for my
insurance and that I'd have to have "outpatient" surgery done at the
local hospital. I was totally pissed at my insurance co. United
Healthcare, but didn't argue with the gal at Waco Ortho. I was lucky
and she was able to reschedule me for 4 p.m. this Thursday at the
"outpatient" deal at the hospital. So I have to wait two more days for
the surgery. My doc did prescribe some Vicodin for the pain, so that'll
help.
The ironic thing about this is that by sending me to the hospital, my
insurance company is going to pay a little over $500 more than if I'd
had the surgery done at Waco Orthopedic clinic. GO FIGURE !
