........"After 8 or 10 casts and no results you decide to fish near the surface, say 6 to 12 inches deep. Cast downstream and  across to the deep bank. The slight current will slowly move your fly from the deep bank in an arc towards the shallow side . A steady slow retrieve is sometimes helpful. A slight twitch is also good, just the smallest movement of the rod tip will provide the helpful twitch to the fly. Your line makes a couple of very gentle but quick tugs and then straightens out. You set the Hook, BLUEGILL ON. I will not disturb your fun by attempting to describe it"............
