Tony,

"Just enjoy what you have." is a great recipe to make a happy life. The
story is great and I feel the same.
Most of the fancy stuff we do not need and I'm sure it does not add any
value to my fishing. For sure, there are some things worth the extra money.
>From my point of view: Hackle, vises, Fly-Lines, tippet materials, reels-if
you need the drag, and probably some others. Depends on your milage. On my
rods I look for the grip, sometimes for the reel-seat and for the guides.
On the other hand: For me it is more satisfying to catch/play a fish on a
rod I build myself than on a high end rod.
