Now that I have your attention - we have some recent developments for the:
Coffee Table (Book) Swap - aka Most Memorable Fly Swap
(I am hoping that this is my last list post as for those who really have no
intention on joining - I am sure these posts have been annoying - Sorry...)
We have had some nice off line discussion with members of the group. We
have serious interest to publish our book - with proceeds going to either
the contributors or possibly charity (or at least a percentage). This is
extremely encouraging - the current members seem ready to produce a top
quality piece of memorabilia.
WE WANT YOU!!!
Here are the details:
SWAP CLOSES 4 / 26 - THIS FRIDAY
Flies Due - June 15th
Text Due (min of 2 pages) - May 31st
Additional Requirement - 1 photo of you fishing, using your fly - or fishing
locale you are going to write about.
FLY DETAIL - Please choose a 'custom' or improved fly that you love and have
had some great memories with. Make sure you give it a name!! Write a story
about the experience. We don't need great writing - just great enthusiasm.
Any story about your fly is a good read.
On July 4th - you will receive a package of flies and the book. (It may not
be the final bound publication with a cover illustration - but it will be a
nice piece -this is my commitment as Swapmeister to each of you)
THEN the group decides what we want to do with this piece to move to a full
scale publication....this is where the fun will begin.
(Publish 100 copies for those of you on the list who were too busy
or "scared" to join)
(Publish 500 copies and distribute to those members who feel they
can sell this)
(Publish 1000 copies through an established publishers)
(Or we just send two copies out to the participants - in case
something spills on one)
WE DON"T KNOW WHAT The FINAL OUTCOME WILL BE - but our finished
piece will be near ready for a full blown print if we decide so.
JOIN NOW so you can participate. (and if any of you work for a publisher -
you also may want to contact me offline as there might be some business
coming your way!!)
