Del my I make a suggestion.  Get a hold of the book Pretty & Practical Salmon Flies by Dick Talleur.  This book will take you step by step in tying these patterns.  He usually teaches a salmon tying class at Hunter's during the winter.  New Hampshire is very pretty during the winter.  I was there last year for a class with AK Best.  The folks at Hunters treat you very well and the food is excellent & included in the price of the class!  The bad thing is you are in a fly shop if you are like me, well do I need to say more!

At $350.00 per, you couldn’t afford to put one on the end of your tippet.

To true. I am trying to get some salmon flies together for some framed prints for our den, and have ran into that problem. I acquired 6 from a buddy that I am trading some trout flies for. Other than that, they are too expensive for me.
