"7. The matter of flies, lines and other equipment of the right sort  is not absolutely necessary in the rising of  fish but they are very important in that they make it easier to do the things which bring success and in some cases are essential to success.  Once a person fishes with the best he will never again be satisfied with inferior tackle.  If you can't afford the best, get he best you can and be critical when you buy it.  Be sure the leaders taper as they should, that you line is the right size for your rod, that your dry flies will tapers as.  These are all aids to good fishing and everyone who loves the game will desire tackle which performs smoothly and efficiently."
