Okay, folks, here's the latest list of names for the
swap. If you've sent me your name and I missed, please
let me know. I'm going to sending another email
shortly with some questions and concerns that have
been brought to my attention.
Quick recap of how this is going to work. Once I have
all the flies in hand, I will send them to the first
person on the list, who happens to be Jimmy Moore.
Jimmy takes as many flies as he wants from none at all
to...? Jimmy then replaces all the flies he took with
new flies, if he wants, he can put in more than he
took. The flies he puts in can be different from the
flies he first tied and can all be different from each
other, however he wants to do it. Jimmy then sends the
flies to John Ridderboss who is next on the list. John
does the same as Jimmy and then sends them on and so
on. The main thing about this swap is the need for
complete fairness and honesty. If someone takes out
nice flies and replaces them with, oh say, San Juan
worms, the swap will fall apart and everyone will feel
cheated.
First of all, to answer some questions.
1.Deadline for sign-up: Oct 31st.
2.Date flies due: Dec 31st. I realize this is a
really long lead time, but as I mentioned in a
previous update, with the Holidays coming up and so
on, this will probably be easier on everyone.
3.Number of flies: depends on how many sign-up. I
would like to have 200 or so flies in the box to
start. Right now there are 38 people signed up, if
we can get two more, that will be 5 flies per person.
You DO NOT have to tie as many flies as there are
participants!
4.I will try to have a website for this swap up and
running by middle of next week. Once it's up and
running, I will keep it updated regularly.
5.Below is the list of the names I have. If I
somehow missed your email, please let me know. You can
also send me your address offlist if you haven't
already. If you want to drop out, just drop me a line
offlist. I will try to keep the list updated at least
twice a week.
