One of our very effective midge patterns is a bit of blue (from a blueberry Nutrigrain bar package) wound on the 18-16 hook with a tuft of white Aunt Lydia's rug yarn at the eye. You can dress it up with a gold or silver single strand of DMC metallic embroidery thread rib if you desire. Joyce
