Yeah, but to get those 18 different patterns, you gotta bite the bullet and tie 20 identical flies so you can be in the swap in the 1st place. I'm the same way- 20 flies of the same kind is a chore. Good thing tying with Whiting hackles (for a dry fly swap) makes it such a pleasure. I wouldn't do it if I still had to tie with the necks we used to have 20 years ago. DonO
