If you're a history buff -- or an atlantic salmon/steelhead fly aficionado -- you will know that Atlantic salmon flies have had a big influence on the development of flies for steelhead (and pacific salmon to a lesser degree). If you'd like to read a recent magazine article on this -- contact me off list at [EMAIL PROTECTED] After you read it -- or maybe even before you've read it -- maybe you'd be interested in joining our swap. The objective -- tie a fly that could be used for atlantic salmon, pacific salmon or steelhead -- e.g. general practioner, bomber, alexandra, mickey finn or collie dog etc etc -- the pattern is your choice -- but we would like it to be one that both atlantic salmon fishermen and steelhead fishermen could use. Patterns for pacific salmon are welcome too -- when deciding what pattern -- ask yourself if it may be good for atlantic salmon too -- eg maybe a winters hope, a black ghost, a supervisor, or a marabou muddler. You should get a few new patterns to try. Just to make sure the flies are legal everywhere -- no double hooks please -- and no weighted flies. A dozen tiers needed. Deadline to receive flies is April 4th. If you've never been in a atlantic salmon/steelhead swap -- you will get some beautiful flies.
