Farm salmon off the menu at Milestones
WebPosted Mar 11 2003 02:16 PM PST VANCOUVER - A national restaurant chain has decided to stop serving farmed salmon. Milestones Restaurants says it will only serve wild salmon, starting this Friday. Kathy Tostenson, who speaks for Milestones, says the change has been driven by customer demand. "A guest will ask our server what type of salmon it is, and when they find that it's farmed, they will elect not to order that product," she says. Tostenson says the chain has also lost customers because it served farmed salmon. She says Milestones has had an overwhelmingly positive response to its announcement that it would switch to wild salmon. Milestones has 23 restaurants in Canada and the U.S.. Fifteen of them are in B.C. |
