Hey Tom, The classic reel for bamboo rods would be one of the Hardy variations (Perfect, Bougle, Lightweight series) or one of the Vom Hofe styles (Walker, Noel, etc).
Jimi's reel is great. I'd love to try one. Tony is lucky to have checked them out.
