Maryland Area VFB'ers,

Don't know if y'all are aware of it, but the Gunpowder has grown up, and now has a reportable stream gauge. You can view it online at: <http://waterdata.usgs.gov/md/nwis/uv/?site_no=01581920&agency_cd=usgs>

All this rain has worked wonders. Right now, the stream gauge is reporting to be a 2.46, where at normal low flows it's usually about 1.8, if I remember correctly, and the flow is at 243 cfs, normally about 110 cfs. Talked to Theaux at the Backwater Anglers Fly Shop last week before Memorial Day, and he said the higher flows have washed a lot of the silt away from the bottom. I know this past winter, it was like trying to wade in muck in quite a few places...

Titelines,
Mark
