Hi Gang, sorry to clutter the lists with this bit about the Joke of the Day Club, which is made up of 71 members of VFB, FFW, and HCFF. Some of you will remember that I started the JFTD, with the blessing of Byard Miller, Chris Cook and Bill Higdon , major domos of the three ff lists, in order to keep the jokes from cluttering the fishing posts. I am sending this post to the 3 lists because of what transpired yesterday. Please read the paragraph below and you'll understand why I chose to send it to the lists instead of to the JFTD members.

Just wanted to let you know that I won't be sending the daily jokes to the members of the JOKE CLUB for a while. After yesterday's Joke, I received a post from the server of the JFTD members who use AOL, (only 6 on JFTD), telling me that my post didn't meet AOL policy and that I was possibly spamming. I spent the better part of an hour yesterday on the phone with my ISP and AOL trying to get to the bottom of this. I explained to them that what I send (JFTD) is to a member list, not unsolicited stuff. I got five different answers from five different people as to why I got the message, ranging from some type of virus, to a glitch in AOL software. All agreed that I shouldn't have received the message. I have emailed the Postmasters of my ISP and AOL to try to get this resolved. Until that time, I won't be sending the JFTD. The only other way to do it would be to send 71 separate emails, and believe me, that takes a while.

Sorry for the bother,

JIMMY D
