[VFB] Fishing Trip yesterday - JIMMY D

As promised, here is a summary of my trout trip to the Guadalupe River, 
just north of San Antonio. Yes, we have a trout stream in Texas, just 
one, though.   The flow yesterday was 412 cfs, a little fast for a 
cripple like me but I used my trusty FolStaff that I purchased from 
Byard at Line's End.  That, plus I am an experienced wader and I waded a 
spot that I was familiar with and that was fairly shallow.  No way would 
I have gotten out in the deeper water for 412 cfs can knock you on your 
butt in a hurry on the Guad!

I caught 7 nice rainbows, all 12 - 14" on a ragged Beadhead PTN dropper 
with an EHC indicator.  This was the same fly I used on my last trip to 
the Guad, so I figured why not use it again.  I did a little 
experimenting with a new PTN, but the bows were not interested in it. 
Just wanted the ragged one. Go figure!  As most of you know, the 
temperatures here in TX have been in the upper 90's for the last several 
days.  I wanted to wade bare-legged, but the water near Canyon Dam where 
I was fishing was a little cold.  Remember the old Coke boxes where the 
Cokes sat in cold water? Oh, you weren't around back then?  Well the 
water coming out of Canyon Lake through it's bottom draw is just about 
that cold.  Felt good through my Lite weight waders.  Usually, there's 
some comic relief on my fishing trips, but not this time.  Guess it was 
because I was by myself, with no one to laugh at my unorthodox casting.  LOL

With all the heavy rain forecast for the San Antonio and Southern Hill 
country of Texas, Canyon Lake will be receiving tremendous amounts of 
rain and the flows are scheduled to be 900 + cfs today and will stay 
there or higher.  550 cfs is the upper level of safety. So, it'll be a 
while before the flows drop enough for safe fishing.  If you want to
