Allan, did a gig like that in a state hospital once, only i was an actor in a play. Pretty interesting experience. I'll tell you what though. For years i would of been hard pressed to even imagine i would EVER dread another airport or hotel. But, nowdays.........if i can drive to a gig, (fly fishing show/conclave) i WILL. And if i can stay at someone's house, THAT'LL WORK! Stayed at a Holiday Inn in Cortland, N.Y. this past weekend because of the Fall River TU chapter "Event." They changed their name to the Leon Chandler chapter and my wife and i attended the festivities. The bed in the hotel got me twice. Damm thing had a spring or something metal sticking out of one side, right at the top edge. Jeeze, and the hit's just keep right on commin.' LMAO, mark

How about naming your instrument and the kind of music you play?

Piano - Classical. Pop. Blues. Dance band for 8 years.

Nice thing about playing piano in a band or combo. You can't haul it around with you. If there's one there, you play. If there's not, you listen. Alway felt sorry for our drummer. He had to haul a LOT of junk with him. Worst dance band experience was when we were playing at the Central State Hospital for the Insane (that was before politically correct names) and a couple of cockroaches crawled out of the piano. I worried for several days that I had carried some home with me.

Used to play church organ.

Prior to that, drums, tuba, trombone.
(Actually WAY prior to that - 50 years ago!!)
