I would like to join but as for knowing which feather is what I'm still not to sure?? . If there was a another tier near me that may want to go in on this and make it a learning experience that would be great. Other than that is the price with Christmas around the corner and 5 boys to buy for it gets a little expensive, quick question is there a book out there that tells about the different feathers and what they look like and there placement on the birds?? I know sounds like a dumb question but had to ask. As for time to do the plucking I work nights and have the whole house to myself all day long with no interruptions that is great to do things like tie and watch movies other than that I guess that's it for now.

Hi Patrick...

Since you are new to tying, I would suggest the Group 1 Saddles...you would get ample amounts of premium dry fly hackle in the most often used colors.

If you are more accustomed to tying wet flies and nymphs, you sure couldn't go wrong with the Brahma Hen Capes (group 9). They make great soft hackles!

keep tyin'...byard
