Who has tied Gummi Worms or Gummi Eels with Sili-Skin??

Is the technique fun? I just know the stuff isn't cheap. But it is like a
Sluggo from the pictures that I see.

Thanks,

Chris.

I'll take that as a joke, Jeff. *wink*

I can count the number of times on one hand that I have used egg
patterns while fly fishing, but for many Pacific Northwest steelhead
flyfishers, egg patterns are a standard resident in the flybox. For
trout fishers, the current hot 'fly' on the Crooked River is something
resembling a whitefish egg.

It's not my intent to resurrect the old lure/bait vs. fly debate, I
would think the makeup of VFB includes people who prefer never to use
anything artificial in their flies all the way to folks who have used
flies that have nothing natural in their makeup.

My enjoyment in fly fishing lies more in exploring new techniques than
treading traditional pathways. This goes way back...when I was a
teenager, I took first place at the Research & Development event at a
national meet of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR). So this
is just the way I'm put together.

And sometimes the fish even cooperate and get fooled by a new
creation...and I find that quite exciting. Maybe I need professional
help *g*.
