Too long a story about Dave taking time to meet with me before his presentation at a conclave and signing all his books I had, but he did take the time. At the time I did not know I was going to move to Arkansas. Dave and Emily live about 8 miles in a straight line from me but it is about 18 miles by road. I have had the honor to be at their house several times.

Dave and Emily are very nice, I was lucky to meet them and I know it.
I was able to become good friends with them because I was in the hospital for kidney cancer,
I had my family get me out of the hospital for a little walk and then we split,
When Dave and Emily found out that I did this just to get to meet them
they went out of there way to talk to me, we went out later for a bit,
Needles to say I was read the riot act when I went back to the hospital.
I spoke to Emily last week, I needed a squirrel skin so she sent me one.
I'll make it up to them and send them something for Christmas.
I don't want to a free loader.
Friends are all we got in life we must respect them.

Steve, in my business practices I am very much the same way. I like everything tpo be perfect. Fly Tying and working with wood are very similar. It takes a skilled hand to work with the natural products. Enjoy your tying for many years to come and go out there and knock those trout dead with em'
