they are what the name suggests flies tied on
tubes.
the easiest way to to put them in the vice is to
push the tube on atight fitting rod( ie an old sowing machine needle with a flat
piece at one end ) this can then be secured in the vice.
If you find the tube rotates on the needle wrap a
small amount of tying silk on before putting the tube on.
