Today I received a sample of EZ Bug yarn from Dean Larson. (Thanks, Dean!) After taking a good look at the material, I went on a search to a local yarn and fiberworks shop to see if I could find something similar.
The shop sold the yarn at $7.10 for 77 yards of yarn or roughly 20 yards of the three-strand EZ Bug after a quick hand-weaving. That's a lot more economical than the $3.95 price for 3 yards at the fly shop.
Woo. Dean Larson just wrote and said at his fly shop, EZ Bug material is $3.95 for 18 INCHES. I was just pulling a figure out of memory having glanced earlier at the item in a catalog. 18 INCHES? Yes, for sure you can save if you buy the yarn and do-it-yourself.
