"The problem with offset circle hooks is the 'hangnail' point, which sometimes catches flesh prematurely deep within a fish's jaw.  Non-offset hooks , on the other hand, almost always hook fish in the corner of the mouth."   "In-Fisherman"    April-May 2004   Thought I would put this on as some folks have talked about using circle hooks on flies.   Rick
