Below is the original post I sent to DonO's thread starter. Don't know why it didn't get out the first time but I was able to copy and paste from my sent items.

I had to think about this one for a while, there are so many different smells and sights and sounds that I associate with fly fishing. One of my favorites that I get to see quite often here in the pacific NW is the Osprey diving from high above to catch a fish.

The feeling of pressure from the water on your waders as you wade out for the first time on a trip.

Every year we do a trip to Central Oregon to fish the crooked river in the spring, I'm usually the first one up in the morning and I love to sit and just listen to the flowing water, it's a special spot to me and the water just seems to sound different there.

And the sound of Frank (my fishing buddy) running down the hill side to get away from a rattle snake! This is a sight and sound I've seen several times and it makes me laugh every time.
