I've used a strap for the last 20 years
, a lot of them on the road, that's really nothing more than a 3 1/2" strip
of real soft, supple leather. I'm playing electric, so I hook up
straight to the " strap pegs " on the guitar, but you could cut a piece about 3
feet long, taper the ends a little, cut a small slice lengthwise in one end for
the peg at the bottom of your gitfiddle and then attach the other end at the
neck with leather laces.
I'd recommend installing a peg somewhere near
the base of the neck ( where it attaches to the body ).Then you could just cut
the leather to whatever length was comfortable and slit it on each end for the
pegs. Less stress on the neck that way.
Keep at it !!!!
