I obviously have no control over that occurrence, but I do know from past experiences that this will generally result in the same type of resentments and ultimately hurt the structure of this forum. I'm certain, that if you feel strongly about expressing your religious or political beliefs, that a search of Google or Yahoo or Rec Groups will result in a much more appropriate venue for you to share your ideas and ideals. This IS NOT the place! This list has enjoyed eight years of respectful discussions of our most impassioned hobby. Current membership approaches 600 individuals. Each of us have our own religious and political agendas...thank goodness that we don't all express them here. Can you imagine the chaos? On the other hand...this is also a developing family. Many of us have met, fished and tied flies together, and we all want and need to know of the well-being or difficulties of our internet friends. I, for one, do not consider a request for a prayer for a suffering loved one, a religious topic, but more a plea for support from ones family and friends. Personally, I'd prefer that responses to such requests be made off-list as I do, but I do understand that urgency and concern often result in on-list replies. You've never found me to object to such situations. My heart and my thoughts always go out to any of our members that suffer from disturbing circumstances. I certainly don't mean to be heavy-handed or become the "meany", but I've witnessed the result of un-moderated forums that allow completely open discussions. They disappear! Please consider that this venue is provided by your's truly...I can always take my ball and go home...;^) If any of you feel a strong desire to discuss this further, please contact me directly.
