Having been shot at, I can vouch for the importance of this email.  Jimmy, you ought to recirculate this every year at this time.

Subject: [VFB] Deer Season & Fly Fishing

Howdy Gang,  Below is a piece I just received from my good friend Allen Crise, concerning our safety as fly fishermen during deer season.

This Saturday in many areas will be the first day of
DEER SEASON.
Let me ask you a couple of questions.
1) What color are Deer?
2) What color are your waders?
3) Where do deer get their drink of water?
4) Where are you standing?
5) What are deer hunters looking for?
6) What color are you wearing and where are you fishing? It is a Very Good Idea for the next few months to have a Bright Orange color on. Vest, Hat, ect. Please do not take out your white hankie. It is getting crowded in ourcountry. If you are a hunter make sure that it is a deer. Not a fly fisherman just getting his hook out of a bush.
Fly Fishers; be aware of the area you are fishing. This is the time of the year we have to share our wilderness.  Please be careful out there. Put on some Blaze orange.  The trout won't care!
