Hi All,

I recently bought a 7wt 9'6" 4-piece high-end rod from
a US manufacturer who has an unconditional lifetime
warranty (Scott S3 Rod).

To my surprise when I put it together there is a
noticeable warp or bend in the rod. With the eyes
aimed perfectly down the 3rd and 4th sections of the
rod curve down and to the right. I would estimate the
tip is a 1/4" off what should be center.

Question. What is an acceptable amount of
crookedness? Will this negatively affect performance?

I have 5 other high-end rods and none have this
problem (mostly Sages). I thought with today's
high-tech graphite rolling methods the days of less
than perfect blanks are long gone. I guess I'm wrong.

Should I return it to the manufacturer?

Thoughts or your experiences are welcome.

Thanks,
Preston
