That is exactly how I have looked at swaps.  I join them to challenge myself
and learn something new.  I fortunately have a huge network to turn to if I
get stuck on a pattern.  So I think you just don't see when I get stuck on
something.  For those of you who don't have local fly shops or clubs that is
what the VFB is for.  Ask questions.   Just put forth your best effort and
the rewards will come.

Couldn't have said it better....not that I would have tried ;o)
Now that my fingers are working again I can start tying, stop the groaning I do pretty well on a San Juan Worm if I do say so myself.
 
Maybe someone should do a newbie swap, for those who have been tying less than 2 years and have a meister who is pretty sharp when it comes to all aspects of the hobby and could critique them constructively. Now who could host it.....hmmmmmm......DonO?!? Yeah that would work. You are always volunteering Byard for things so it is your turn to be volunteered oh great inventor of all that is good in this hobby of ours.
