Knot Sense and Hard Head are two different products. I have not seen any reference that says Hard Head will set using UV light. On the other thing, take a very small quantity of Hard Head and add a bit of water to it...shake it up inside a plastic film canister or something, then let it settle and de-bubble. If it still works as before, then you're safe to dilute the remainder of the bottle.

The product is called Loon Knot Sense, and flytiers have been using it in place of epoxy in fly patterns. To harden, you simply expose it for a few seconds to an ultraviolet light, which I already have.
Sunlight will also cure the product in about a minute.
