Hey guys, The 'african' (as I call it) is really a hybrid; Kenya crested crossed with the 'typical' guinea. Have a body pelt, minus the wings and neck. Somewhat bluish hue to the spots, as expected on the kenya, but the back has the 'typical' guinea feather look with a definite blue hue. Not dyed, at least to my knowledge and the look of the underlying skin or feather shafts. The feather flues are much more coarse than those of my 'typical' guinea pelts, and the feathers are a tad longer, up to 3". The rump has longer feathers, but i wouldn't call them a tail, per se... Just like a ringneck pheasant rump in the length of the flues and feather stem, minus the obvious color difference from the pheasant (he he he... mottled spey hackle...) Will send a picture off-list once I get the camera dug from the moving boxes... Hope that made sense for the description... Tight wraps, Pete
