Another thing that will help is to heat the whole vice in an oven for
a bit (if it has no non-meltable parts of course), an old trick we
learned in our collision repair class. Or, simply blow on the rusty
nut with a heat gun to raise its temperature. This causes the metal to
expand and breaks the rust binding. When it has cooled completely (
and be sure it is cool or it will break) then use the Liquid wrench or
Slick spray if necessary. Many a rusted bolt on our 1959 IHC truck
(which we are restoring) has come apart with this treatment. Joyce
