I tied at a new flyshop and gave the kids flies. The parents as the kids were real appreciative. Saw Bruce Whittle and his wife there.
Had a few older ladies that I showed how to wave the mayfly. They said it was like crocheting and thought they would give it a try..
One husband came back to me and said coming to the fly shop was the best things he did. After watching us tie, he bought his wife a vise and tying stuff. She got an interest in tying watching us.
Young and old, we try to get them all started.

Went to a nature center in town today that was hosting an open house. They invited my TU chapter to do a booth, so a couple of us took our vices and tied and talked to the kids. My son went with me and tied some wooly buggers, and I taught him some foam flies.
We gave away flies to the kids, and a few of the workers. Unfortunately, some of them were my IOFF flies, so I have to catch back up to where I was at before I went. But, as a charter member of IOFF, I felt that it was my duty to give away flies and promote the sport, and I'll just tie more anyways!
