Is it legal to take road kill?  Such as, if I find a deer that has been hit
by a truck, is it legal for me to harvest this deer?  Should I call DNR
before doing so?  Anyone with any ideas?  I know turkeys and the such, it
should not be a problem to pluck feathers off the carcass, but as far as
harvesting the bird/deer for meat????

Call your local DNR... I found out last year that to take any part of a roadkill animal was illegal unless you had a permit to do so. But then again we are talking about SC too, LOL
