I replied to this message last night and it bounced.
I have had a number of "Improved Clinch Knots" slip till I started using the Lefty Krech twist on the knot. I got this from Lefty some years ago. I have never had a Improved Clinch Knot slip when doing this. Before I started doing it, I would loose a fish and find the little curly end of the tippet that told me it slipped. If I break off now, it is a clean break. Ok here it is, run the tippet through the hook eye, bring it up and make the twists around the tippet as you would on the improved clinch, bring the tag end through the lower loop then wrap the tag end around the tippet three more times before going through the upper loop.. It is the same as the improved clinch with the added three turns before going through the upper loop. Lefty says it makes for a 100 % knot.
Hope this is clear.

I realize this is a fly fishing web site. I would be fly fishing if I could. The weather in Northwest Ohio is hot!!! The bluegills are too deep for me to get to. I have started fishing for bass with the usual casting rod and have been busy catching bass. My only problem is the improved cinch knot that I have been using has been coming untied. I have lost several nice bass and I was wondering if the list could help solve my problem. I have been using the improved cinch knot since day one. I have never had this problem until just the last few days.
I am fishing with 8 lb stren and this is the first time I have had this
problem. Any help from the list will be appreciated. It is new stren and I
have changed the line several times. HELP!!!!
