There are three in the general vicinity.  Closest is the Tulpehocken, about 45 minutes from where I live.  They've been stocking fingerling rainbows in it for years now.  The stretch immediately below the dam is a special reg area.  Moving literally up the turnpike, there's the Leigh River, this is one of the lesser known tailwaters but the trout fishing seems to be improving.  It's about an hour and fifteen minute drive.  Then is there's the big one.  The upper Delaware.  I guess you could consider the East and west branches separate tail waters till they merge at Hancock.  That's a 4 hour drive, I don't head up that way unless FF@ is having a clave up in the area.  There are a couple of more tailwaters in the area but they don't have the cold water discharge to keep a trout fishery going.  They are decent warm water ones though.

"All things considered, I'd rather be in Philadelphia."

P.S. Any trout "tail waters" in your area.  I'll start with the Guadalupe River, below Canyon Lake Dam, just northwest of New Braunfels, TX.  Ten mile trout fishery sustained by the flow of 45 degree temperature discharge water coming through the bottom draw of  Canyon Lake Dam.  Who'd ever thought there could be a viable trout stream in Central Texas!
